CABA World Series (pool play) Game 4

Homer Heat 8, Cincy Flames 3

Crystal Lake, IL - The Flames couldn't get moving in the 100 degree heat and fell defeat to the Homer Heat 8-3. Because of their win last night against McHenry County, the did however qualify for the Championship round as the #9 seed.

Brandon Mullins slammed a double in the 6th, and Randy Davis pitched 3 inning striking out 8 and allowing only one earned run. Nick Ernst pitched 2 innings and struck out 3 and gave up one earned run.

CABA World Series (pool play) Game 3

Cincy Flames 11, McHenry County Hurricanes 3

Woodstock, IL - The Flames bounced back from an afternoon defeat with a stellar performance in front of a sellout crowd at the feature game in Woodstock, IL.

John Malott started the game and struck out 1 in an inning of work. Bret Bosel pitched a flawless 2nd inning for the win, recording a K. Randy Davis pitched an inning with a K and earned a hold and Brandon Mullins pitched the 4th inning for the save recording 2 Ks.

Nick Ernst and Randy Davis each laced singles, and Ryne Poli and Bret Bosel each hit RBI doubles. Kane Bateman and Mark Peterson went 1-1 with 2 runs scored, and Brandon Mullins smacked a double over the head of the centerfielder in the first.

Defensively, catcher Nick Ernst made a diving catch on a bunt pop up, and picked off a runner at first for an spectacular double play in the 3rd.

CABA World Series (pool play) Game 1

Cincy Flames 15, Gurnee Patriots 0

The Opening ceremony fireworks started early as the Cincy Flames broke out the thunder sticks in the first game in the CABA World Series Pool Play.

Kane Bateman pitched 3 solid innings giving up only 1 H while striking out 3. John Malott led the game off with a 3B, and from there the onslaught continued. Ryne Poli smashed a single and a 2B and drove in 4. Brandon Mullins smacked an RBI 3B in the 2nd, and Joey "Hoover" Wenning continued his torrid hitting with a 2-run single in the 1st.

Cincy Flames 12, N.A.A.A. Warriors 2

In the last game of the regular season the Cincy Flames staked their claim to Fifth place in the 2006 9u Cincy World Series.

Brandon Mullins started the game and struck out 6 in two innings for the win. Kane Bateman and his famous "ephus" pitch came in for the last two innings to earn the save with 3 Ks.

John Malott hit his 2nd homer of the weekend and added a double, Bret Bosel doubled in the 2nd, Ryne Poli hammered a 2-run single, Mark Peterson, Brandon Mullins and Joey Wenning added RBI singles. Ryne Fritz went 2-2 with 2 R, and an RBI.

In his last game with this group of Flames, Justin Moyer, future stud of next years 9U Flames, knocked in his 27th RBI of the year. Good Luck next year Justin!!

In the Titanic struggle to make it to the Consolation game on Sunday the Flames came out blazing scoring 17 runs on 9 hits.

Ryne Fritz pitched 4 solid innings giving up just 5 hits and a walk while striking out 5.

Offensively Kane Bateman smacked an RBI-triple in the second, Brandon Mullins also smacked a triple and added a 2-run single, Brett Bosel went 2-2 with an RBI. Trey Amann scored two runs with a single and a walk. And Joey "Hoover" Wenning continued his hot hitting, going 2-2 with an RBI and R.

Despite a sixth inning rally the Flames came up short in their first game of the elimination play in the 2006 Cincinnati World Series.

On the mound Bret Bosel pitched 4 innings giving up 6 hits, and 1 ER while striking out 2. Randy Davis pitched an inning walking one and striking out two.

Offensively John Malott went 2 for 3 with 2 R and an RBI, Randy Davis smacked a double, and Justin Moyer, Joey Wenning, Ryne Poli added a single.

Cincy Flames 17, Sunman Indians 1

The Flames came out hitting early and often in the first game of pool play in the 2006 9U Cincinnati World Series.

Justin Moyer shut down the Indians for 4 solid innings giving up 0 ER, 3 BB, and 1 H while striking out 5.

Offensively John Malott cranked a two-run homer in the 2nd, Ryn Poli hit an RBI 2B, Kane Bateman, Brandon Mullins and Ryne Fritz added RBI singles.

Defensively Kane Bateman gunned down a would be basestealer at 2nd, and Mark Peterson finshed a double play in the first by throwing at a runner at home.

Cincy Flames 21, Xtreme Sharks 7

West Chester, OH - Once again the Flames were able to avenge an earlier loss and take their 4th Championship trophy of the year winning the "2006 Cincy Flames Classic".

Ryne Fritz led the Flames by going 4 stellar innings giving up just 2 H, 2 ER, and 2 BB with 3 Ks for the win.

Offensively, the Flames looked like they did back in Nashville, pounding out 18 hits and scoring 21 runs. Ryne Poli went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI, a 3B and 2 R. Kane Bateman went 3 for 4 with a 3B, 2 R, and an RBI. John Malott went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI, a 3B and 3 R, Bret Bosel went 4 for 4 with 2 2B, 2 RBI, and a R, and Ryne Fritz went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI and a R.

The Cincy Flames scored early and often and received excellent pitching in the semi-final game of the "Cincy Flames Classic.

On the mound Brandon Mullins pitched 4 innings giving up 2 BB, 2 ER, and 3 H while striking out 4. The Bullpen was also excellent, Justin Moyer pitched the 5th inning without allowing an earned run for a hold, and West-sider Joey Wenning pitched the 6th giving up 0 ER on 1 H for the save.

Joey Wenning led the offense by going 2 for 3 with 3B, and RBI, and 2 R. Nick Ernst went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and a R, and Mark Peterson added a 2B and a R.

West Chester, OH - Trey Amann scored the go ahead run on Tristan Lana's RBI single in the top of the sixth inning as the Cincy Flames won the first game of the "Cincy Flames Classic" elimination play. In the fifth inning the Flames tied the game when Brandon Mullins RBI single scored John Malott from the 3rd after his triple. Randy Davis smacked two singles and scored a run.

Mark Peterson pitched 3 2/3 innings striking out 5 and giving up just 1 ER for the win.

Offensively Tristan Lana led the Flames by going 3 for 4 with 3 RBI, and a R.

With their backs against the wall the scrappy Cincy Flames battled back in the Pool Play of the "Cincy Flames Classic" and won their last two games to qualify for the Championship round of the tournament.

Kane Bateman pitched his best game of the season by going 4 2/3 innings with an amazing 9 stikeouts. Kane allowed just 2 H, and 0 ER to earn the win. Nick Ernst pitched the 6th innning with a strikeout for his first save as a 2006 Flame.

Offensively Tristan Lana went 1-2 and scored two runs, one run on Brett Bosel's 2-run homer in the first inning that put the Flames ahead for good. Mark Peterson added two singles, and Trey Amann smacked a single in the 5th and scored a run.

West Chester, OH - In the first game of single elimination in the 10u Fourth of July Bash the Flames jumped out in front of the Lightning and held on to win a close one.

Brandon Mullins started the game and struck out 3 through 3 innings. Joey Wenning continued in relief of Brandon and struck out two, and Bret Bosel finished the game in the 6th with 1 K to earn his 7th save of the season.

Offensively Mark Peterson led the team with 2 2B, and 2 RBI and Ryne Poli added a 2-run single.

The Flames completed "pool play" in the Fourth of July 10U Blast with a loss to the Fairfield Braves. After getting behind 8-0 early the Flames battled back, but came up short.

Mark Peterson hit a double to left in the 6th and later in the inning, Joey Wenning smacked a 2-run single. John Malott hit a 2-run triple in the 4th inning. Defensively in the 3rd inning second baseman Tristan Lana snared a sure base hit up the middle and threw the runner out at first by 3 steps.

The Flames bounced back as they always do with a stellar performance against another Indiana All*Star team. Mark Peterson tossed 5 fantastic innings allowing just 2 ER on 4 H while striking out 7 for the win. Bret Bosel once again led the offense going 2 for 2 with a 2B, RBI and a R.

Justin Moyer, Joey Wenning, and Ryne Poli all added singles and everyone scored a run or knocked in an RBI.

Justin Moyer slammed the door in the 6th for his 5th save of the year.
