Cincy Flames 8, Lakota Diamond Dawgs 6

The Cincy Flames notched an impressive come from behind win against a scrappy Lakota Diamond Dawgs team. Newcomer Randy Davis pitched 3 2/3 no-hit innings striking out 8 for the win. Kane Bateman struck out the last batter of the game with the winnning run at the plate for the save.

Offensively Brett Bosel led the offense by going 3 for 3 with a 2B, R and 2 RBI. Tristan Lana went 2-2 with 3 R and a SAC. Kane Bateman smacked an RBI double and scored a run and Randy Davis added a 2B and a R. Ryne Poli executed a perfect suicide squeeze in the 5th inning.

Defensively, catcher Brandon Mullins threw out two would be basestealers, one at 2nd and one at 3rd.

West Chester Sluggers 7, Cincy Flames 4

West Chester - The Flames battled back and tied it in the fourth inning, but the Sluggers took the lead in the top of the fifth and never looked back. Trey Amann, Brandon Mullins and Mark Peterson each hit RBI-singles. Ryne Fritz went 2 for 2, and John Malott went 2-3 with a 2B, and 2 R. In the 2nd inning Joey Wenning made a diving play at shortstop and Mark Peterson made a great scoop at 1st for the put-out.

Bret Bosel pitched 3 innings and struck out 4.

Cincy Flames 17, Cincinnati Crusaders 8

Blue Ash, OH - The Cincy Flames brought out the "Full Metal Jacket" for the titanic struggle versus the Cincinnati Crusaders. Ryne Fritz, the Flames starting pitcher executed a perfect suicide squeeze in the fifth inning, Trey Amann smacked a double, and Mark Peterson and Brett Bosell each added two doubles.

On the mound (I know it was flat, but mound sounds cool) Ryne Firtz started the game and pitched two innings with 2 Ks. Justin Moyer pitched two innings and recorded 3 Ks and picked up the win, Brandon Mullins pitched an inning with 2 Ks, and westsider Ryne Poli finished the game in the sixth with 3 straight Ks for the save.

Cincy Flames 9, Riverbats Gold (10u) 7

West Chester, OH - A stifling defense and great pitching by Mark, Kane, and Tristan, helped the Flames win their 4th 10u game in 8 tries. Baserunning was the name of the game for the offense as the the Flames stole home 7 times.

Mark Peterson pitched 4 solid innings, Kane pitched 2/3rd of an inning, and Tristan finished the last 1 2/3rds innings and picked up the win. The Flames hurlers did not give up a single walk, and the defense behind them was excellent. Brandon Mullins turned in another great game behind the dish, throwing out a would be basestealer at 2nd, and nearly nabbed another. Brett Bosel once again led the team with 6 putouts from 3rd, Joey Wenning turned in a circus catch at short, and Tristan Lana notched 4 putouts, making several tough one-hoppers look routine.

At the plate the Flames' bats remain hot, Ryne Poli smacked an RBI single in the 1st, and John Malott hit an RBI single up the middle in the 3rd. Kane Bateman returning to his familiar leadoff spot reached base twice, and Justin Moyer and Bret Bosel each added singles.

Bluegrass Buccaneers (10u) 8, Cincy Flames 6

Northern Kentucky - The Flames played against a good hitting 10U Buccaneers team, but came up short 8-6. Offensively Brett Bosel went 2-3, Ryne Poli and Brandon Mullins each hit RBI Singles, and Tristan Lana hit a 2-run single.

Defensively, Joey Wenning turned in a web gem with a diving stop of a would be hit in the fifth inning. That same inning Ryne Poli chased down a shot to centerfield with a "Ken Griffey-like" grab. Brandon Mullins played another solid game behind the dish, and Mark Peterson made a solid catch on a pop-up at 3rd.

Bret Bosel pitched 2.1 innings and only walked one, and John Malott pitched 2.2 innings with 2 BB, and 3 Ks.

Cincy Flames 9, Butler County Bombers 2

West Chester, OH - After a one-hour rain delay, the Flames came out swinging the bats and playing great defense behind starting and winning pitcher John Malott.

Ryne Poli led the offensive assault by going 3 for 3 with a 2B, 3 RBI, and a R. Brandon Mullins chipped in with a big 2-run single in the 1st and Tristan Lana added an RBI single in the fifth. Joey Wenning smacked a screamer to right in the fourth and Brett Bosel hit one in the third.

John Malott pitched 5 innings giving up 3 H, 2 ER, and a BB. John struck out 6, and the Flames defense played superbly behind him. Brandon played a flawless game behind the plate, throwing out a couple of runners, and Joey Wenning, Brett Bosel, Mark Peterson, and Justin Moyer all made solid plays in the field.

Cincy Flames 15, DMG Dawgs 1

The Cincy Flames ended their 3-game losing streak by pounding out 7 hits and 15 runs behind the no hit 4 inning pitching performance of Ryne Fritz.

Behind Ryne the defense, led by Brett Bosel, who led the team with 6 assists at 3rd, played solid. Ryne struck out 3 and walked just 1 Dawg for the win.

Cincinnati Cardinals 5, Cincy Flames 3

Colerain, OH - There was lots of thunder and lightning on the west side of town tonight, but unfornately not from the bats of the Flames. Brett Bosel recorded the lone Flames hit and the Flames fell to the Cardinals 5-3.

Brett Bosel pitched 2.1 IP giving up 1 H and 0 ER and struck out 7. John Malott pitched 1.2 innings giving up 1 H, 0 ER, while striking out 4. Tristan Lana pitched 1 IP, giving up no ER, no H and he struck out 1.
