Cincy Flames 9, Riverbats Gold (10u) 7

West Chester, OH - A stifling defense and great pitching by Mark, Kane, and Tristan, helped the Flames win their 4th 10u game in 8 tries. Baserunning was the name of the game for the offense as the the Flames stole home 7 times.

Mark Peterson pitched 4 solid innings, Kane pitched 2/3rd of an inning, and Tristan finished the last 1 2/3rds innings and picked up the win. The Flames hurlers did not give up a single walk, and the defense behind them was excellent. Brandon Mullins turned in another great game behind the dish, throwing out a would be basestealer at 2nd, and nearly nabbed another. Brett Bosel once again led the team with 6 putouts from 3rd, Joey Wenning turned in a circus catch at short, and Tristan Lana notched 4 putouts, making several tough one-hoppers look routine.

At the plate the Flames' bats remain hot, Ryne Poli smacked an RBI single in the 1st, and John Malott hit an RBI single up the middle in the 3rd. Kane Bateman returning to his familiar leadoff spot reached base twice, and Justin Moyer and Bret Bosel each added singles.

Bateman 0-1, 2 BB, R
Lana 0-2, SAC, R
Poli 2-2, 2B, BB, RBI, R
Bosel 1-3, R
Malott 2-3, RBI, 2 R
Wenning 1-2, R, BB
Moyer 1-3
