Greenfield, IN - The Flames opened up pool play in the Bandit Yard Invitational in Greenfield, Indiana with more of their winning ways. Both pitching and hitting were solid in the opening games with the Flames outscoring their first two opponents17-7. The Flames so far have collected 15 hits and the pitchers have struck out 7.

The opening game of the Bandit Yard Tournament looked similar to a lot of the games the Flames have had this year with crooked number in the first inning. With doubles from Brett Bosel and Mark Peterson and singles from Kane Bateman, Joey Wenning, and Ryne Fritz in the first frame the Flames put up 5 runs and never looked back. Tristan Lana executed 3 perfect suicide squeezes two of which eventually went for singles.

On the hill Lana tossed 4 solid innings for the win, and Justin Moyer mowed them down in the fifth for the save.

Cincinnati Flames 6, Mt. Vernon Pythons 3

Trey Amann scored the go-ahead run in the top of the fifth inning on a 2-run single by Kane Bateman, and Justin Moyer once again came in in relief at the end of the game to hold the Pythons down for the save. Brandon Mullins went 1 for 3, John "Stitches" Malott went 2 for 2 with 2 R, and Ryne Poli went 2 for 3 with a 2B, and an RBI. Mark Peterson held the Pythons with only 1 unearned run for 4 2/3 innings while striking out 4 for the win.
