Cincy Flames 9, Avondale Angels (10u) 8
West Chester, OH - In dramatic fashion the Cincy Flames won in their opening game in the SWOL 10U league with a 9-8 victory. The Angels jumped on starter John Malott early in the first inning, but Tristan Lana, the winning pitcher, came in to pitch 4 1/3 scoreless innings to hold down the Angels while the offense chipped away. The top of the sixth inning saw clutch at bats by Mark Peterson, Joey Wenning, Trey Amann, Justin Moyer, and Kane Bateman, and the icing on the cake was a solid two-run go-ahead single by Tristan Lana. The bottom of the 6th was equally as exciting with awesome defensive diving plays by Bret Bosel, and Joey Wenning, and finally fearless pitching by Wenning for the save.
